2018 Beauty Favourites
I’ve been making a conscious move in the past year to bring more cruelty-free beauty into my kit and that has meant lots of trying new products.
These are my best of skincare and makeup for 2018.
Weleda Skin Food is an unbelievable saviour for dry skin – it’s the thickest thing you’ve ever seen. A little goes a long way and it leaves an amazing sheen on skin under foundation but it’s heavy. Sorts them dry spots right out.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream Illumination edition is a glowy godsend for foundation. Medium coverage and a dewy masterpiece.
Avene 50+ SPF Fluid is light and lovely under makeup. No oiliness, leaves a lovely silky finish.
Glossier Boy Brow is an amazing brow definer and builder, great as a final touch after filling them in, or alone for a more natural-but-groomed look.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit has been a godsend for bridal beauty this year. The Dim Light, Diffused Light and Radiant Light give an amazing, subtle tinted glow to the cheeks while softly sculpting the face. The three blush colours are very pigmented so I haven’t used them much though.
Anastasia BH Modern Renaissance, of course. Beautiful array of wearable colours that all go together. Lovely quality and blendable. Probably the only palette you’d actually need.
I have been trying other primers this year and going back to Urban Decay Original Primer Potion made me realise how good it is. Reliable. That’s what you want.
But I am still forging ahead with cruelty-free products this year so a lot will be out too. Merry 2019.
